2017 Fundamentals of Baseball Father/Son Camp

Introduction

Enjoy a weekend get away with just you and your son, learning the greatest game of all!

The Citadel Baseball staff will teach the fundamental skills to your son that he needs in order to be successful in the game of baseball. This weekend allows each father a chance to not only be your son's coach, but also his best friend, roommate, and teammate! We hope to make this a weekend to remember; fathers and sons playing catch; competing with and against each other; a night of minor league baseball; and best of all…one weekend of friendship with no interuptions!

The Citadel will provide a camp T-shirt to all involved in the camp.

Detailed Camp Description

Cost:
$405 for father/son ($100 per each additional person)
Example: Father and 2 sons = $505
Grandfather, Father, and 2 sons = $605

Activities:
Defensive drills, hitting drills, bunting techniques, base running techniques and competition, home run derby contest, throwing accuracy and speed pitch competition, swimming, and a minor league baseball game (Charleston Riverdogs) on Saturday night.

Equipment:
Fathers: Glove, tennis shoes, hat
Sons: Glove, bat, hat, cleats, tennis shoes, helmet, batting gloves, bat bag

What Else to Pack?
You will need to bring: twin sheets for two bunk beds, pillows, blankets, towels, flip flops, bathing suit, toiletries, and baseball attire for Friday, and Saturday. Many families will pack a cooler of snacks and drinks to have in the down time or night time. It is hot in Charleston…we will not be sliding, so no need for fathers or sons to wear baseball pants, unless they want to.

Friday night, each group will be provided with a large pizza following registration. All other meals will be provided by The Citadel's Mess Hall.

Please make it a habit to check your e-mail daily, this will eliminate any confusion and or miscommunication.

Miscellaneous Information

What if I have to cancel a camp?
We do not offer refunds on canceled campers, just a future camp credit if you decide to cancel, but we do have what is called "Cancellation Protection". We offer basic Cancellation Protection to allow participants some peace of mind in case plans change. This allows us to keep our prices low and provide the best service possible. Due at the time of registration, Cancellation Protection entitles you to a full refund of camp fees should you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of an overnight camp, and 7 days prior to the start of a day camp. If you cancel within 14 or 7 days of the start of your session, we will give you a camp credit for all money paid. The credit is valid for three years from camp date at any of our camps. Credit with insurance is transferable to family members or friends, and good toward a future camp.

Medical Release

Each camper must be covered by their own insurance. Each camper will be required to complete a release from, medical consent form, and provide a copy of a physical from with-in a year of camp date. Any and all medical expenses resulting from injury or illness will be the responsibility of each campers private insurance company. Please print, sign, and email or fax back these items prior to camp to ensure a smooth registration process.

Camp Hotel / Dorm Information

All fathers and sons will stay overnight in one of The Citadel's barracks. All rooms are air conditioned!
