Pro Day Baseball Camps
PRO-DAY Baseball conducted its first baseball camp the summer of 1989 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The camp was conducted by Jeff & John Gross, who scouted with the Texas Rangers along with other Ranger scouts and major league players.
Four decades later, the Gross Brothers who have scouted with MLB Clubs in both the American & National Leagues of Professional Baseball, Coached on the Collegiate level at four and two-year colleges are still teaching the game they grew up loving and helping players advance to the next level.
Today, John's son Preston who serves as Vice-President along with a staff who all has been associated in professional baseball with close to 100-years of experience either as a player, coach or scout operate PRO-DAY. This professional staff along with college coaches is the ones who are at the events evaluating the talent and teaching the game of baseball.
Since that summer of 1989, PRO-DAY Baseball has held numerous camps and clinics across the United States. We've had hundreds and hundreds of our alumni advance to have great collegiate careers, with hundreds of others drafted into professional baseball over the years.
PRO-DAY Baseball had its inaugural "Showcase" on December 28, 2001 in Orange Beach, Alabama. The participants began getting more exposure from these showcases as collegiate coaches and professional scouts flocked to our showcases evaluating the talent.
Today, PRO-DAY has expanded to nearly twenty "Mid-Southeastern States" with the "Top Players" being invited to participate in the annual prestigious "Best of the Best" National Showcase. This is held at our headquarters in Orange Beach, Alabama on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, where PRO-DAY also host week long summer camps for players of all ages.
The "Best of the Best" National Showcase has drawn professional scouts from over half of the major league organizations and college coaches from the SEC, ACC, Sun Belt, Gulf Coast, and NJCAA Regions 2, 8, 16, 17, 22 and 23. The top junior college programs in the country have been in attendance too.
PRO-DAY also host the North/South/East/West National Showcase the first weekend of August each year at USA Stadium (former Home of the USA Olympic Baseball Team) in Millington (near Memphis), Tennessee. The PRO-DAY "All-American" Showcase is the second weekend of January in Orange Beach, Alabama. All of our events are open for players to attend, with exception to our three national showcases, where your performance from one of our states showcases could earn you an invitation to attend.
There have been so many requests recently for PRO-DAY Baseball to come to new regions of our wonderful country. Even though we have had campers from nearly all the states, along with players representing over six countries at our events, we also plan to continue our expansion into the western and northern United States. This addition should move us into 20-25 states within the next 12 months as we continue to expand PRO-DAY Baseball to every young man who has the dream of moving to the next level.
